Located in Whitby, Ontario, Intervet Canada Ltd. is the Canadian operating division of Intervet International, the world’s third leading animal health company. Headquartered in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, Intervet was founded in 1969 and has developed into a modern animal health company with a strong focus on the market and its customers. Intervet Canada was founded in 1984 and began with product lines dedicated to the poultry industry. In 1996 we introduced a product line for Swine. Bovine and Equine products made their introduction in 2000, followed closely by Companion Animal products in 2002. As a relatively young company in Canada, we strive to exceed expectations. Today’s Intervet is the result of both acquisitions and a process of continuous adaptation focused on the needs of tomorrow. Long-term success in the global animal health market is driven by innovation and the application of “high-tech” methodology in research and production. As a result, R&D has been and continues to be, one of the key investment areas for Intervet. Annual investment in R&D exceeds 10% of sales and is supported by more than 15% of Intervet’s total workforce. Intervet has six major research sites. In May 2003 Intervet opened a new life science center in the US mid-west. This center now serves as a major research facility for livestock vaccines and a production facility for swine and cattle vaccines. It is Intervet's largest distribution center and "Center of Excellence" for the clinical development of livestock and equine pharmaceuticals in the United States. Visit Intervet.ca |
